The McMichael Canadian Art Collection ranks among Canada's top public galleries in size and significance. The four floors of Gallery, exhibition, and programming space, comprising 25,000 sq. ft., are surronded by a network of outdoor trails, outdoor sculpture garden and 100 acres of conservation land with breathtaking views of the Humber Valley. Over 6,000 distinctively Canadian works of art comprise the permanent collection, and the gallery welcomes on average more than 110,000 visitors annually.
The part-time Recruitment & Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for full-cycle staff recruitment and work placement opportunities, for all deparments within the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, including job postings, resume reviews, interviews, offers and reference checks.
The Recruitment & Volunteer Coordinator will support the McMichael Volunteer Committee, by providing staff communications and links to volunteer opportunites within the gallery. As a member of the HR department, the Coordinator will also participate in other HR initiatives such as staff motivation/events, training, and communications.
The sucessful candidate will have a Human Resources Management Certificate or courses towards their CHRP designation. Direct experience recruiting and interviewing, and 3-plus years' experience in Human Resources is required. The Coordinator must have knowledge of working with volunteers and have been involved in engaging volunteers. Excellent communication skills, written and oral are required.
